How this calculator works
A United States dime is worth ten cents, or one tenth of a dollar. Converting dimes to dollars divides the count by ten, and converting dollars to dimes multiplies by ten. A standard roll holds 50 dimes, which is $5.00. The scale menu lets you enter, for example, 2 thousand dimes and get $200.00 without typing 2,000.

dollars = dimes x 0.10 = dimes / 10. dimes = dollars x 10. Dimes per dollar = 10. A roll of 50 dimes is $5.00.
Worked example
100 dimes is $10.00. 10 dimes is $1.00. $7.50 is 75 dimes. 50 dimes, one standard roll, is $5.00.
