About Mathulate

A free reference for everyday calculations: the question you have on a Tuesday afternoon, answered with a formula you can check.

What Mathulate is

Mathulate is a collection of free online calculators for money, health, building, food, math, science and more. Each page does one job: it takes your numbers, shows the working, and gives an answer you can read in seconds.

The site is written for people who want to understand the number, not just receive it. Every calculator shows the formula it uses, a worked example with real inputs, and the public sources the formula comes from.

Who it is for

Mathulate is for anyone who needs a quick, reliable answer and wants to see where it came from: someone sizing a concrete slab, comparing loan offers, converting a recipe, checking a body mass index, or helping a student with a homework problem.

Calculators are written in plain Canadian English. They are general tools, not a substitute for advice from a professional who knows your situation.

Free and ad-supported

Every calculator is free to use, with no sign-up and no paywall. The site is paid for by advertising. Ads sit in reserved spaces outside the calculator and never inside it, so the working is not interrupted. The privacy page explains what the site stores in your browser and what the ad check sends.

How calculators are made

Each calculator goes through the same steps: a public formula is chosen and cited, the page is written from scratch in plain language, the working is checked with hand-computed examples, and automated tests hold the engine to those values. The methodology page describes the process in detail.

What we do not cover

Report a mistake

Calculators can be wrong. If an answer looks off, or a source has changed, tell us. Send the calculator page, the numbers you entered and the answer you expected, and we will check it against the formula and its tests.
