How this calculator works
The observed categories become codes from zero to four. The weighted score combines the codes using the published coefficients. Triage RTS adds the codes without weights. These are separate measures with different ranges, and neither is itself a survival percentage. The result is an estimate for information only and is not medical advice.
Formula
Weighted RTS = 0.9368(GCS code) + 0.7326(SBP code) + 0.2908(RR code). Triage RTS = GCS code + SBP code + RR code.
Worked example
GCS 15, pressure 120 mmHg and rate 16/min all code as 4, giving weighted RTS 7.8408 and triage RTS 12. GCS 7, pressure 60 and rate 8 all code as 2, giving 3.9204 and 6.

Frequently asked questions
Are the raw measurements multiplied by the weights?
No. Apply the weights to the coded categories, not to raw GCS, pressure or breathing rate.
Why does very fast breathing code as 3?
The original category above 29/min scores 3. The 10-29/min category scores 4.
Can the score be reversed to recover observations?
A category contains multiple measurements, so the total cannot uniquely reconstruct the original observations.
