How this calculator works
The six laboratory subscores are added without modifying the published SI thresholds. Creatinine is entered in micromoles per litre by default. The score has limited sensitivity; suspected necrotising infection requires urgent clinical assessment even with a low result. The result is an estimate for information only and is not medical advice.
Formula
CRP >=150 mg/L: 4. WBC <15 / 15-25 / >25 (10^9/L): 0 / 1 / 2. Hb >13.5 / 11-13.5 / <11 g/dL: 0 / 1 / 2. Na <135 mmol/L: 2. Creatinine >141 umol/L: 2. Glucose >10 mmol/L: 1. Otherwise 0.
Worked example
CRP 150, WBC 15, Hb 13.5, sodium 135, creatinine 141 and glucose 10 give 4 + 1 + 1 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 6. CRP 200, WBC 26, Hb 10, sodium 130, creatinine 150 and glucose 11 give 13.

Frequently asked questions
Does CRP exactly 150 count?
Yes. The original table reproduced in the cited validation study assigns four points at 150 mg/L or above.
Can a low score rule out infection?
No. LRINEC must not delay assessment or treatment of suspected necrotising soft-tissue infection.
Why are creatinine units different?
Creatinine usually uses umol/L, while sodium and glucose use mmol/L. The unit selectors convert the physical concentrations before scoring.
