How this calculator works
A lakh is 100,000 and a million is 1,000,000, so one million is ten lakh. The Indian numbering system uses lakh and crore where international usage uses million and billion. The full number readout keeps the quantities comparable.
Formula
lakhs = millions x 10. millions = lakhs / 10. 1 lakh = 100,000. 1 million = 1,000,000.
Worked example
2 million = 20 lakh = 2,000,000. 75 lakh = 7.5 million. 0.5 million = 5 lakh.
