How this calculator works
A week is seven days and a day is 24 hours, so a week is 7 x 24 = 168 hours, or 604,800 seconds. Dividing hours by 168 gives weeks. This is elapsed time, so a week that contains a daylight saving change still counts as 168 of these hours rather than the 167 or 169 hours a wall clock might show. Work weeks are different: a full-time job of 40 paid hours is only 0.238095 of a 168-hour week.
Formula
weeks = hours / 168. hours = weeks x 168. 1 week = 7 days = 168 h = 10,080 min.
Worked example
336 h is 2 weeks. A 40-hour work week is 0.238095 weeks of elapsed time. Half a year of 26 weeks is 4,368 h. 1,000 h is 5.95238 weeks, and 52 weeks is 8,736 h.

Frequently asked questions
How many hours are in a week?
Exactly 168 ordinary hours, because there are seven days and each day is 24 hours.
Why is a work week less than 168 hours?
Only the paid or worked hours count. A 40-hour job uses 40 hours out of the 168 in a week, so the rest is personal time, sleep and commuting.
Is a week always seven days?
Yes. The seven-day week is a calendar convention rather than a physical unit, but it is fixed at seven days in the ISO calendar and in everyday use.
How do I convert weeks to months?
Months have no fixed length, so no single factor is correct. A rough average is 4.34812 weeks per month, but a calendar calculator is the right tool when exact dates matter.
