How this calculator works
Put each hour in exactly one pay category. The tool multiplies each category by its hourly rate, then adds the earnings. Choose a solve-for mode when you know total pay and need a missing rate or hours. All amounts use the same currency; there is no conversion. This is gross-pay arithmetic with no tax-year tables, deductions or automatic overtime eligibility decision. A blended regular rate that includes bonuses may differ from your base wage.
Formula
Premium hourly rate = regular rate x multiplier. Total pay = r x (h_regular + 1.5 x h_half + 2 x h_double + 3 x h_triple). Divide the known total by weighted hours to recover r.
Worked example
At $20 per hour, 40 regular hours earn $800 and five time and a half hours earn $150. Total gross pay is $950. Adding two double time hours and one triple time hour brings the total to $1,090.

Frequently asked questions
Is every hour above 40 paid at time and a half?
Eligibility depends on jurisdiction, occupation and employment terms. The US federal rule generally covers non-exempt employees after 40 hours in a workweek. Enter the hours that apply to your situation.
Does time and a half include ordinary pay?
Yes. The 1.5 multiplier is the entire rate for those hours. Do not enter those same hours again under regular hours.
Can I work backwards from a premium rate?
Yes. Choose the relevant rate mode. A time and a half rate of $45 implies a regular rate of $30 per hour.
