How this calculator works
Billable value is the hourly rate multiplied by chargeable hours. Time units convert to hours: 30 minutes is 0.5 hours. A day unit means 24 elapsed hours, a week means 168, and a month is the engine average of 730.5 hours; enter paid workdays as their actual billable hours. Apply any contract-specific billing increment before entering the hours. This is a before-tax worksheet with no tax-year rates, expenses or automatic time rounding.
Formula
Value = hours x hourly rate. Hours = value / rate. Rate = value / hours.
Worked example
Twenty billable hours at $100 per hour produce a $2,000 subtotal. A $1,500 subtotal at $120 per hour represents 12.5 billable hours.
