How this calculator works
A millilitre is 10^-3 litres and a microlitre is 10^-6 litres. Their ratio is exactly 1000, independent of the liquid. The main result keeps the conversion as volume; the tool makes no claim about the mass or concentration of a sample.
Formula
uL = mL x 1000; mL = uL / 1000; 1 uL = 10^-9 m3.
Worked example
A 0.075 mL sample occupies 75 uL. A 250 uL sample occupies 0.25 mL.

Frequently asked questions
Is uL the same as the symbol with a Greek mu?
Yes. uL is a plain-text substitute for microlitre, commonly written with the micro symbol.
Is a microlitre the same as a cubic millimetre?
Yes. Both occupy 10^-9 cubic metres.
Does density affect this conversion?
No. It is volume to volume. Density is only needed when converting volume into mass.
