How this calculator works
Count mode multiplies the number eaten by a user-supplied mass per raisin. Mass mode converts the other way. Both report grams per kilogram for discussion with a clinician. Tartaric acid content varies, and these arithmetic conversions do not model kidney injury. A clinician may recommend assessment even when the dog has no symptoms.
Formula
Raisin mass = count × mass per raisin. Approximate count = total mass / mass per raisin. Exposure (g/kg) = raisin grams / dog kilograms. There is no safe-dose equation.
Worked example
Four raisins estimated at 0.5 g each total 2 g. For a 10 kg dog that is 0.2 g/kg. Call veterinary help immediately; that exposure is not classified as safe.

Frequently asked questions
Is one raisin harmless?
Do not use the count to dismiss an exposure. Ask a veterinarian or animal poison control about any suspected ingestion.
Can this predict the toxic number of raisins?
No. A reliable threshold for an individual dog cannot be inferred from a raisin-size category or body weight.
What should I tell the clinician?
Give your dog's weight, the suspected product, amount, time eaten, symptoms and any other ingredients. Keep packaging if possible.
