How this calculator works
Convert each entered value into a reduced fraction with a positive denominator. Compare pairs by cross multiplication, then sort in the selected direction. Equal values keep their input order and use an equals sign in the readout. The table retains each original input alongside its exact fraction, which helps check mixed representations.
Formula
For positive b,d, a/b < c/d exactly when ad < cb. Reverse the comparison for descending order.
Worked example
1/2, 0.25, 75% and -1 1/2 sort to -3/2 < 1/4 < 1/2 < 3/4. In descending order, 1/3, 2/6 and -1 become 1/3 = 1/3 > -1.

Frequently asked questions
Can I mix decimals and percents?
Yes. For example, 0.25 and 25% both become 1/4 and compare equal.
How do negative values sort?
They follow the ordinary number line. A value farther below zero is smaller, so -2 is less than -1/2.
What separators should I use?
Use commas between values. Keep the space within a mixed number such as 2 1/3. Enter 2 to 50 values.
