How this calculator works
Multiply the share holding by the cash dividend per share for one payment, then multiply the unrounded payment by the number of equal annual payments. Shares and dividends stay constant. There is no reinvestment, special dividend, withholding tax or Canadian dividend gross-up and credit calculation. Future distributions are not guaranteed.
Formula
Cash per payment = n × d; annual cash = n × d × f. n is shares held, d is cash per share for one distribution and f is the whole number of equal payments per year. Annual cash uses the unrounded per-payment amount.
Worked example
Holding 125.5 shares paying $0.60 per share quarterly gives $75.30 per payment and $301.20 annually. A zero dividend pays $0 regardless of a positive share holding or payment frequency.

Frequently asked questions
Should I enter the annual dividend per share?
Enter the amount for one payment here. For a $2.40 annual dividend paid in four equal instalments, enter $0.60 per share and 4 payments.
Does this include reinvestment or dividend tax?
No. It estimates cash income before tax with an unchanged share count. Reinvestment would change future holdings.
Can the number of payments per year be fractional?
No. It must be a whole number, and the form rejects a fractional count.
