How this calculator works
Historical tax year: 2020, for Golden State Stimulus II issued under the 2021 programme. The FTB required a timely 2020 return, California AGI from $1 to $75,000, wages no more than $75,000, residence conditions and no claimability as someone else's dependent. Amounts depended on GSS I qualification, identification type and dependent credits. The FTB now says both programmes are complete and no more payments are being issued.
Formula
Eligible SSN filer: $600 if not qualified for GSS I, plus $500 when a dependent credit was claimed; if GSS I-qualified, only the $500 dependent amount applies. Eligible GSS I-qualified ITIN filer with dependents: $1,000.
Worked example
An otherwise eligible SSN filer with $50,000 2020 AGI, no GSS I qualification and a dependent credit had a $1,100 GSS II amount. A GSS I-qualified SSN filer with a dependent had $500.

Frequently asked questions
Can I still receive this payment?
The FTB states GSS I and II are complete and no more payments are being issued. This is a historical reconstruction.
Does the number of dependents multiply the payment?
No. The historical dependent addition was based on claiming at least one qualifying dependent credit.
Does the filing date still matter?
Yes. The historical programme required a return filed by 2021-10-15; a later date fails the eligibility check.
