How this calculator works
Tax year: 2024 general-rate model. The 7.25% statewide base already includes its mandatory local component. Enter only district tax above that base, using the official address lookup. Check the government lookup for the purchase date and address. Exemptions, tax holidays, special taxes and filing returns are outside this estimate.
Formula
Tax = taxable price x statewide rate + local taxable base x additional local rate. Total = price + tax. For an eligible Florida single item, local base = min(price, $5,000).
Worked example
A $100 general taxable purchase with no additional local tax has $7.250 in tax before rounding and a $107.250 total. The general statewide rate used is 7.25%.

Frequently asked questions
Which year does this estimate use?
The fixed statewide rates are labelled 2024. Local rates must match the transaction date, and later changes need separate verification.
Are all purchases taxable?
No. Confirm the item, delivery address and any exemption first. This worksheet starts from a taxable purchase amount.
How do I find the additional local rate?
Use the official government rate lookup for the purchase date and address, then enter the confirmed district rate above the 7.25% statewide base.
