How this calculator works
The three media work on different clocks. Reading time is the number of books times the average page count, divided by your pages per hour. Gaming time starts from the main story hours per game, multiplied by your play style: a main-story run stays at the base figure, a balanced run adds half again, a completist run more than doubles it, and a speed run cuts it sharply. Expansion hours are added as a separate input so you can match the content you actually intend to play. Television time is entered directly, because seasons vary. Each total is divided by the time you can give it per day and rounded up, then the day counts are added for a finish date.
Formula
Reading hours = books x average pages per book / pages per hour. Gaming hours = games x main story hours x play style factor + expansion hours. Viewing hours = television runtime. Days for each medium = hours / daily time for that medium, rounded up. Total days = reading days + gaming days + viewing days. Finish date = start date + (total days - 1) calendar days. Play style factors: main story 1, balanced 1.5, completist 2.5, speed run 0.6.
Worked example
Eight books of 380 pages at 40 pages an hour is 76 hours, or 38 days at two hours a day. Three games at 30 main story hours and the balanced factor are 135 hours, plus 40 hours of expansions for 175 hours, or 88 days at two hours a day. An eight hour series at two hours a day adds 4 days. The whole run is 130 days, finishing on 10 March if it starts on 1 November.

Frequently asked questions
Which order should I read and play in?
The books come first in publication order if you want the fullest background, with The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny as short story collections before the novels. The games are sequels set after the books, and the television series is a separate adaptation, so it can be watched at any point without breaking the others.
Why is play style a multiplier?
Side quests and exploration can easily double or triple a playthrough. A main-story-only run uses the published critical path hours, a balanced run adds about half, a completist run multiplies by two and a half, and a speed run cuts the base time. The multiplier is a planning estimate, not a measurement.
How many hours do the expansions add?
Hearts of Stone adds roughly ten hours and Blood and Wine roughly twenty to thirty for most players, so forty hours is a reasonable combined figure. The input is separate so you can set it to zero for a base game run or raise it if you explore thoroughly.
Does the calculator include the animated film?
No. Its runtime is not built in. If you plan to watch The Nightmare of the Wolf, add its length to the television runtime field before calculating.
