How this calculator works
The cent is a land unit used in parts of southern India. It is defined as one hundredth of an acre, so 100 cents make one acre. The are is exactly 100 square metres. Converting both through the square metre gives a fixed ratio: one are is about 2.47105 cents. This page uses the international acre, which is the value in modern land records.
Formula
cents = ares x 2.47105381467165. ares = cents x 0.40468564224. Because 1 cent = 1/100 acre and 1 acre = 4,046.8564224 m2, 1 cent = 40.468564224 m2. One are is 100 m2.
Worked example
10 ares = 24.7105381467 cents = 1,000 m2 = 0.247105381467 acres. 100 cents = 1 acre = 40.468564224 ares = 4,046.8564224 m2.
