How this calculator works
Each side count defines a separate die numbered from 1 to that count. A seeded Park-Miller sequence selects the faces, with rejection mapping to avoid a modulo remainder bias. The table preserves your dice order, so changing that order can change the individual results. The expected total uses the midpoint of each die, while the modifier shifts the result and both limits equally. This reproducible sample is intended for play and teaching.
Formula
Total = sum(face_i) + modifier. Expected total = sum((sides_i + 1)/2) + modifier. Minimum = number of dice + modifier; maximum = sum(sides_i) + modifier.
Worked example
With seed 1, a d4, d6 and d8 produce 3, 1 and 1. Their sum is 5; adding 2 gives 7. The expected total for that pool with the same modifier is 12.5.

Frequently asked questions
How do I roll two d6 dice and a d10?
Enter 6,6,10. Repeated side counts represent separate dice.
Can a die have labels or unequal face weights?
This tool supports consecutive numbered faces with equal probabilities. Custom here refers to the number of sides on each die.
How do I generate another result?
Change the seed. Keeping the seed and dice order reproduces the same sample; reset restores the default pool.
