How this calculator works
The Park-Miller generator supplies integer states. Rejection mapping discards the small remainder of the state range that cannot divide evenly into the chosen number of sides, then maps accepted values to faces 1 through s. This avoids the extra mapping bias of simply rounding a decimal. Results are deterministic for the chosen seed and are intended for demonstrations, not secure draws or audited games.
Formula
State_next = 16807 × state mod 2147483647. Let x = state_next - 1 and R = 2147483646. Accept x < floor(R/s)s, then face = 1 + (x mod s). Total = sum(faces) + modifier.
Worked example
Seed 1 with three six-sided dice gives faces 1, 1 and 5. Their sum is 7; a modifier of 2 makes the final total 9.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get another roll?
Change the seed. Identical settings reproduce identical rolls.
Does the modifier apply to every die?
No. It is added once after summing all the dice.
Why can results differ from another seeded roller?
Different generators and different mappings produce different sequences. A seed only identifies a sequence within a specified method.
