How this calculator works
The move date is included in the charged period. Moving in charges from that date through month end; moving out charges from the first through that date. Divide the agreed monthly rent by the actual days in the month, including February's leap day where applicable. Your lease may specify another convention.
Formula
Daily rent = monthly rent / actual days in the month. Move-in days = month days - move day + 1. Move-out days = move day. Prorated rent = daily rent × charged days.
Worked example
Moving in on November 16 at $1,800 monthly rent means 15 charged days in a 30-day month. Daily rent is $60 and the prorated amount is $900.

Frequently asked questions
Is the move date charged?
Yes, in both modes. If the agreement excludes that day, adjust the date by one day or use the agreed day count.
Does this always use thirty days?
No. It uses the actual calendar month: 28, 29, 30 or 31 days.
Does a move-out date cancel a lease?
No. This estimates a partial-month charge; notice requirements and the right to prorate depend on the lease and local rules.
