How this calculator works
The litre is defined as one cubic decimetre, which is 1,000 cubic centimetres. The SI prefixes then divide it: centi means one hundredth, so a centilitre is one hundredth of a litre or 10 millilitres. Centilitres are common on European drink labels and wine bottles, while millilitres are more common in Canada and the United States. Cups and fluid ounces on this page are US customary measures, defined from the US gallon of exactly 231 cubic inches.
Formula
centilitres = litres x 100. litres = centilitres / 100. millilitres = litres x 1,000. cubic metres = litres / 1,000. US cups = litres / 0.2365882365. US fluid ounces = litres / 0.0295735295625.
Worked example
1 L is 100 cL, 1,000 mL and 0.001 m3. It is 4.22675 US cups and 33.8140 US fl oz. A 750 mL bottle is 75 cL. 2.5 L is 250 cL and 2,500 mL.

Frequently asked questions
Is a centilitre the same as 10 millilitres?
Yes. Centi is one hundredth and milli is one thousandth, so a centilitre is ten times a millilitre. A 33 cL can is 330 mL.
Are the cup and fluid ounce metric?
No. Both are US customary measures on this page. A US cup is 236.588 mL and a US fluid ounce is 29.5735 mL. A metric cup of 250 mL and a US legal cup of 240 mL are different units.
Is a litre exactly 1,000 cubic centimetres?
Yes in the current SI definition, because the litre is defined as a cubic decimetre. A very small difference existed between 1901 and 1964 under the old definition based on the kilogram of water, but it no longer applies.
