How this calculator works
The standard atmosphere is a defined reference of exactly 101,325 Pa, independent of the local weather. The multi-unit table compares that reference with bar, psi and torr. All values retain the pressure reference you enter; this tool does not add or subtract ambient pressure.
Formula
Pa = atm x 101325; bar = atm x 1.01325; torr = atm x 760; psi = Pa / 6894.757293168.
Worked example
2 atm is 202,650 Pa, 2.0265 bar and approximately 29.3919 psi. Starting with 0.506625 bar gives 0.5 atm.

Frequently asked questions
Is 1 atm the pressure outside today?
It is a standard reference. Local absolute pressure varies with weather and elevation.
Is a technical atmosphere the same unit?
No. One technical atmosphere is 98,066.5 Pa. Use the standard atmosphere for the atm field.
Does atm mean absolute pressure?
The unit itself does not set the reference. Keep absolute pressure and gauge pressure separate; use the gauge converter for a reference change.
