How this calculator works
An even coating is a thin prism: mixed volume equals surface area times wet thickness. The allowance covers material left in containers and ordinary application loss. Reverse mode removes that allowance before finding the coating thickness or area. The result is total mixed epoxy, not the separate resin quantity. Absorption, porous substrates and filler additions can change actual demand.
Formula
mixed volume = area x thickness x (1 + allowance); rectangle area = length x width; circle area = pi x diameter²/4.
Worked example
A 3 m by 2 m surface at 2 mm thickness uses 0.012 m3, or 12 L, before losses. Four litres over a 2 m diameter circle gives about 1.273 mm thickness without loss.

Frequently asked questions
Does the result include hardener?
Yes. It is the combined mixed volume. Split resin and hardener using the manufacturer ratio and the specified volume or mass basis.
Can I pour any thickness at once?
No. Product limits depend on cure chemistry, temperature and casting size. Follow the manufacturer maximum pour thickness.
Is wet thickness the final cured thickness?
The geometry is for mixed wet material. Shrinkage, fillers and surface absorption are product-specific.
