How this calculator works
Use the actual delivered oligo amount and the concentration you want after dissolution. Moles are conserved, so final volume is amount divided by concentration. For a dry pellet the required diluent approximately equals final volume; if liquid is already present, subtract it or use a dilution calculation. This amount-based calculation does not require sequence length or molar mass. It assumes complete dissolution and no material loss.
Formula
n = C V; V = n/C. In laboratory units, V (microlitres) = 1000 n (nmol)/C (micromol/L).
Worked example
10 nmol at 100 micromol/L requires 100 microlitres, or 0.1 mL. Dissolving 20 nmol in 200 microlitres also gives 100 micromol/L.

Frequently asked questions
Should I enter synthesis scale?
Use the amount actually delivered on the tube label or specification sheet, which can be lower than the synthesis scale.
Where are nmol and microlitres?
Enter nmol as micromol divided by 1000. The result also reports nmol and microlitres explicitly.
Can I use this with an existing stock?
Use solution dilution when a stock aliquot already contains solvent.
