How this calculator works
A payout of 35 to 1 means 35 units of profit plus the original stake returned on a win. Expected net averages the win profit and losing stakes across all wheel pockets. Standard single-zero wagers have a house edge of 1/37; most double-zero wagers have 2/38. The double-zero first-five wager instead has edge 3/38. La partage is modelled only for single-zero even-money bets, returning half the stake on zero. En prison, triple-zero wheels, overlapping wagers and local exceptions are not included.
Formula
P(win) = covered pockets / total pockets. Net win = stake × payout odds. Full winning return = stake × (payout odds + 1). House edge = 1 - P(win)(payout odds + 1), except the specified half-loss rule. Expected net = -stake × house edge.
Worked example
A $10 straight wager on a single-zero wheel wins $350 profit and returns $360 when successful. Its chance is 1/37 and expected net is -$10/37, about -$0.27027 per spin.

Frequently asked questions
Does return include my original stake?
Yes. The profit output excludes it and the full return output includes it.
Does expected loss predict my next spin?
No. It is the model average per repeated wager. An individual spin wins or loses according to the actual outcome.
Does changing stake after a loss remove the edge?
No. A stake progression does not change the probabilities or payout ratio of the next wager. This calculator does not model progression strategies.
