How this calculator works
Parse each token in the selected base and map it to a letter, Unicode scalar value or element symbol. A slash token inserts a word space. Alphabet mode returns uppercase base forms in the selected order. Phone digits are ambiguous, so the result shows a bracketed group for each key. Atomic numbers return chemical element symbols and are a separate mapping from alphabet positions.
Formula
One-based index = number - 1; zero-based index = number; reversed index = alphabet length - number. Unicode decoding uses the selected base directly as a scalar value.
Worked example
1 2 3 decodes to ABC in one-based Latin mode. Unicode decimal 72 105 decodes to Hi. Atomic numbers 1 8 decode to HO.

Frequently asked questions
What happens with a position outside the alphabet?
The tool reports an input error rather than wrapping the position or omitting it.
How are words separated?
Use a slash token between groups, such as 8 9 / 20 8 5 18 5.
Why are phone digits shown in brackets?
A digit such as 2 can mean A, B or C, so it cannot determine a unique letter.
