How this calculator works
If It Fits Your Macros is an allocation method, not a standardised diet. This page estimates adult energy, assigns your protein and fat shares, and gives the remaining energy to carbohydrate. The AMDR comparison provides context, not individual approval. An optional goal adds a user-entered energy adjustment and schedules a date using the entered weekly pace. The pace and calorie adjustment are independent assumptions. The date is arithmetic, not a prediction: metabolism, water and tissue composition change over time. No fixed kcal-per-kg rule is used. The result is an estimate for information only and is not medical advice.
Formula
Carbohydrate fraction = 1 - protein fraction - fat fraction. Protein and carbohydrate grams = their allocated kcal / 4; fat grams = allocated kcal / 9.
Worked example
For 2520.17 kcal with 20% protein and 30% fat, carbohydrate is 315.02125 g, protein 126.0085 g and fat 84.0056667 g.

Frequently asked questions
Does meeting macros ensure a balanced diet?
No. Vitamins, minerals, fibre, food quality and personal needs remain important.
Why is carbohydrate the remainder?
Protein and fat shares are entered directly, so the remainder makes the total exactly 100%.
Does the scheduled goal imply the calorie change will cause that pace?
No. The entered pace is an independent scheduling assumption; this tool does not model metabolic adaptation.
