How this calculator works
Calendar days are counted first, then multiplied by 1,440, the number of minutes in a 24-hour day. The inputs are dates only, so the answer is a projection on a uniform 24-hour day rather than a log of every real clock minute, including daylight-saving changes. One million minutes is about 694 days, a little under two years.
Formula
minutes = (O(as-of) - O(date of birth)) x 1,440. One day is 24 x 60 = 1,440 minutes, and one hour is 60 minutes.
Worked example
Born 1990-05-20 and measured on 2026-11-01, you are 13,314 days old, which is 19,172,160 minutes. The one-million-minute mark arrives at about 694 days, shortly before the second birthday.

Frequently asked questions
Should I add the time of day?
Not for this page. A birth time would only matter if you supplied a time zone and a clock time, and the result would move by at most 1,439 minutes. The date-only count is the stable answer.
How long is a million minutes?
1,000,000 / 1,440 = 694.4 days, or about one year and eleven months. A billion minutes is about 1,902 years, which is why birthdays are rarely quoted in minutes beyond early childhood.
Is a minute always 60 seconds?
In ordinary civil timekeeping, yes. Leap seconds are inserted occasionally to keep atomic time aligned with the Earth, but they are ignored by the 24-hour day model used here.
